Since I finished Landmark I only crashed the ship once!!!! Never do something out of fear and "need"- Gods got your back! Another lesson learned by Shannon! But once I restored my integrity I was up and running like a wild river again!
Everything just keeps presenting it self with ribbons and bows.
Meeting Roland with Rage in the Cage was a sheer accident. Besides him not knowing what to think of me at first, some girl who looks very much out of place is hanging out at the fights? What's she up to!
Well on my birthday I showed up again to the fights. I ended up meeting the guys out and talking more than I thought. I thought at first this man is a hardened "detective" and after sitting with him he opened up and revealed the man behind the door.
Roland is one of the kindest men I've met in a very long, long while. He has the heart of a lion and loves to be silly and joke around, a lot.
He came from Cuba and lived in sever poverty, only having one meal a day until he was 18 years old. He got Rage up and going from nothing and made a success out of his natural skills in promoting and martial arts.
Roland finds time often to help others. One day a few weeks ago he called me up so happy that he could have someone to help & how good he felt afterwards. He saw a man on the side of the road gathering the bricks that spilled from his truck, so he jumped out and helped the man so he could get on his way. I know Roland wouldn't tell everyone that story, but I will. He is truly special, and demonstrates someone who is paying it forward today by donating a portion of sales towards The Rebel Alliance & SPIFI Foundation get up and started, as well as giving children, teenagers, and adults a chance to develop, heal, grow and overcome through fighting in martial arts. It's truly a place where you can get a release, build confidence, stay humble and be yourself!
Thank you Roland for being AMAZING!, as well as HERO in my life.
